Newport Property Trust is led by William Karnick.  Mr. Karnick has over 20 years experience in commercial real estate investment, management and consulting. Previously, Mr. Karnick was a Managing Director of Colony Capital where he was the senior West Coast Partner responsible for the acquisition and strategic oversight of commercial property investments for Colony’s value-add and separate accounts platform.  At Colony he directly sourced and managed the underwriting, approval, closing and stewardship of over $500 million in new direct property investments and was integral to the acquisition of multiple distressed loans and large loan portfolios for Colony Distressed Credit Funds I and II.  Mr. Karnick acquired an additional $1.5 billion of office, industrial, retail and multifamily properties in various direct, public-to-private, and joint venture equity partnership transactions at ING Real Estate, CBRE and Sequoia Realty Advisors.
